Rainy Orteca is an internationally known composer, musician + sound designer for digital and fine art.
Her work has appeared in and been written about in Time Out (London), GQ Magazine, The Times (London) The Independent, GLEICH MAGAZIN and What Can A body Do? (published by Cantor Fitzgerald Gallery). Recent work has been performed at Sculpture Center, The New Museum, Exit Art, Recess Art Gallery, and 25CPW in New York.

In 2008, under the moniker Dead Air, she released an album on the UK label Reveal Records that features songs with “…scatter gun delivery, trash aesthetic and electro-analogue tension…” (The Times, London).
As a 2016 NYSCA Grant recipient, Orteca is currently developing an experimental score for a New York City theater production. Look out for performances in 2016.
